The Norfolk Broads

Acle
Lying in the heart of the Norfolk Broads, Acle is the ideal start point for a varied and interesting boating holiday. A market town since the 13th century and set on the Bure, perhaps the prettiest of Broadland's rivers, Acle is at the gateway to the marshscapes of Haddiscoe and Halvergate.

Brundall
On the northern banks of the River Yare, downstream from the medieval city of Norwich and upstream from Yarmouth on the east coast, Brundall is the ideal start point for a boating holiday in the Norfolk Broads. And although all the broads are interconnected, making cruises to Oulton Broad in the south, and Wroxham, Acle and Hickling in the northern Broads easily accessible, you can enjoy some delightful shorter cruises.

Hickling and Stalham
From your mooring at Stalham on the River Ant, in the unspoilt, northernmost reaches of the Norfolk Broads, you won't want to miss cruising through the open waters of Barton Broad, following the river as it narrows and winds its scenic way to How Hill - a beautiful nature reserve with land and water trails, a thatched mansion set on a hill overlooking the river, working wind pumps and Toad Hole Cottage, a tiny Victorian eel catcher's home furnished just as it was 100 years ago. Cruises to Wroxham and Horning are also easily possible, as are longer trips to Great Yarmouth and Norwich.

Houseboats
Take a break away from it all in one of our Houseboats, moored in quiet hideaways on the Norfolk Broads. A short break or a weekly stay in a houseboat allows you to enjoy a waterside location whilst letting you unwind and enjoy the nature surrounding you. A great base from which to explore the local area, where you can also hire a day boat nearby and discover the rivers and broads. Or if you choose just relax and watch the world cruise slowly by, enjoy the wildlife in abundance or spend the day on the riverbank with a rod and line during the fishing season. The houseboats are well appointed, providing all the comforts of home and some provide free use of a rowing boat.

Reedham
This picturesque village is idyllically located in the heart of the southern Broads. With traditional inns, the Humpty Dumpty Brewery and Pettit’s Animal Adventure Park on your doorstep there is plenty to explore all just a gentle stroll from the free moorings along the River Yare. Alternatively, departing from here, you’ll enjoy pleasant cruising into Norwich for some sightseeing, shopping and great food or alternatively why not visit the east coast resort of Great Yarmouth with its traditional seaside entertainment.

Wroxham and Horning
Known as the 'capital' of the Norfolk Broads and set on one of its prettiest rivers, bustling Wroxham village makes an excellent base for easy cruising to many outstanding natural and historic attractions. Lying just to the north is Coltishall, a historic village mentioned in the Doomsday Book, and to the south are the open waters of Wroxham Broad, Hoveton’s nature trail and abundant wildlife and good fishing at lovely Salhouse Broad. Further south lie Ranworth Broad, home to the Broadland Conservation Centre and a church tower offering breathtaking views, and the village of Horning.
